Tusker attack claims two in Chitwan

CHITWAN, Nov 28: Two people were killed in a wild tusker attack in Madi Municipality-9 in the district on Wednesday.

CHITWAN, Nov 28: Two people were killed in a wild tusker attack in Madi Municipality-9 in the district on Wednesday.


The deceased have been identifed as Krishnakali Paudel, 60, and Shushila Bhandari, 35, locals, confirmed DSP Narayan Shrestha of Area Police Office, Basantpur.

The tuskers attaked them while they were cutting grass on the bank of the Riu river today.


“The elephants attacked them at 3:30 pm while they were colleting fodders for their cattle on the bank of the Riu River. Their bodies have been  recovered and we are preparing to send them to Bharatpur Hospital for postmortem,” said DSP Shrestha.
