ITAHARI, June 11: It's been 15 years since Manju Limbu of Itahari-5 divorced her husband after being unable to bear the torturous marriage. She has been living in her maternal home since then. Forty-year-old Limbu has a son. She has long been doing labor to earn bread for her son and herself.
The money earned from labor was enough for them until her son was small. But it became really difficult for her to manage money for his education and other expenses as he grew up. Two years ago, she made her mind to go abroad. She shared her plan to one of her friends, Amrit Magar, of Sundarharaicha. Magar assured to provide her help saying he has a good connection with a manpower agency. She also informed him that her first priority is Dubai followed by Qatar.

"Amrit suggested to me to go for other countries for better remuneration," said Limbu. But even after two years, the manpower company did not forward the process of sending her abroad. A month ago, Magar recommended Limbu to go to Iraq. She requested Magar to forward the process legally.
"He told me that I would have to pay some extra money if I chose to go from Nepal and also said that going from India is cheaper," said Limbu, adding, "I agreed to go through any channel as long as I was assured of reaching my destination."
Later Limbu changed her mind and told Magar that she no more wanted to go to Iraq. But Magar blackmailed her saying he had already spent USD 500 in the process and she will have to pay him back if she is not going. Limbu had no option and finally she agreed to go to Iraq.
"I had no money to pay him so I agreed to go to Iraq and pay his money back," she said, adding, "But he told me that I will have to manage the transportation charge for which I took some loan."
On Sunday, Limbu was introduced to a guy who would take her to Iraq via India. She reached to Sewa Hotel of Itahari where the guy was found talking to two other men. Acting on a tip off, police reached the scene and arrested Ganesh Raut of Itahari-19 on charge of sending people to foreign land using fake visa. Police have also arrested Magar as well. As per the investigation of police, these people assure to provide job with a monthly salary of Rs 50,000 and provide unsuspecting people with fake visa.
Police have started investigation, after filing a case of human trafficking against Magar and Raut.
