KALIKOT, Oct 29: Two girls were killed and three others injured in an explosive device explosion in Kalikot.


Four-year-old Jharna Thapa was killed when an explosive device exploded in Tilagufa Municipality-10 Ranabada of Kalikot. The injured four-year-old Saraswati Rana also died during treatment in Surkhet, according to police.

Similarly, three-year-old Darshana Rana, five-year-old Muskan Thapa and seven-year-old Kamal Thapa were injured in the incident. Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Jaishwar Rimal said that the explosives went off when they were playing in the paddy field near their home.


According to him, as the injured children could not be treated in the district, they were sent to Surkhet via helicopter at the initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
