KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Two children who were stuck in the middle part of the Balkhu rivulet were rescued on Saturday. Police rescued the children from the area which is located in between Kirtipur and Chandragiri municipality.
The flash flood in the rivulet had taken them away while swimming. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Metropolitan Police Circle, Kirtipur, Raju Lama said that the entrapped children were rescued with the use of a tube and string.

The rescued are Sumit Acharya, 11, of Nuwakot currently residing in Kalanki, Kathmandu and Ridam Adhikari of Bardibas currently living in the same place.
They had stepped into the rivulet for swimming with other children on Saturday afternoon.
