Two electrocuted in Rautahat

Rautahat, June 17: Two people died due to electric shock in Baudhimai Municipality in Rautahat on Saturday.

Rautahat, June 17: Two people died due to electric shock in Baudhimai Municipality in Rautahat on Saturday.


Those two were electrocuted while attempting to connect electricity to a motor for water supply in Ward No 5 of Baudhimai Municipality.

Arun Shah, a local resident, suffered an electric shock while attempting to operate an electric motor connected to a tubewell in his yard. In an effort to rescue Shah upon witnessing electrocution, Sitawi Pandit also became a victim of electric shock.


Both individuals, who suffered serious injuries due to the electric shock, were taken to Gaur Hospital for medical treatment. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bir Bahadur Budhamagar at District Police Office, Rautahat, informed Republica that Shah and Pandit died while undergoing treatment.


DSP Budhamgar said that the bodies of both the deceased were handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
