KATHMANDU, July 18: Two foreigners have been arrested with one kg of the illegal drug cocaine.
Among the arrestees, Fahimuddin Nasimuddin Ansari, 23, is an Indian citizen while Ikechukwa Cyril Obodoifula, 44, is a Nigerian.
Five foreigners arrested with large quantity of cocaine
They were arrested by a team from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Koteshwor, from Thamel and Pinglasthan on July 16. Ansari, an Indian national who came to Kathmandu from Indigo Airlines via Mumbai, was arrested by the Narcotics bureau with cocaine from a hotel in Thamel.
Prem Bahadur Shahi, the information officer at the bureau, said that a Nigerian citizen was arrested from Pingalasthan after he said that he received cocaine from Obodoifula.
Obodoifula landed in Nepal on July 16 via a Qatar Airlines flight. It has been revealed that he made a false bottom in his jacket where he hid the drug while bringing it from Qatar. Cocaine was recovered from a juice can where it was transferred from his jacket.
