KATHMANDU, Jan 6: During the recent course of investigation into the rape and murder of 13-year-old girl Nirmala Panta from Kanchanpur, police have arrested two Indian nationals.
According to police sources, the DNA test of the two arrested persons is being carried out. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) of Nepal Police is investigating the case.
Police ‘frame’ mentally ill person in rape, murder case
A committee was recently formed under the leadership of Durga Singh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the CIB, to investigate the case. In the course of the investigation, DIG Singh's team has reached Kanchanpur.
After taking oath, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane promised to investigate the Nirmala rape and murder case.
