Two industries settle dues amid tariff dispute

KATHMANDU, Aug 8:  Amidst the ongoing tariff dispute between the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and industries over dedicated and trunk line charges, two industries have settled their outstanding dues.

KATHMANDU, Aug 8:  Amidst the ongoing tariff dispute between the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and industries over dedicated and trunk line charges, two industries have settled their outstanding dues.


Sona Polymers and Sona Packaging, which utilize dedicated and trunk lines from the Bhairahawa distribution center, recently paid their pending amounts. Sona Polymers cleared dues amounting to Rs 346,389, while Sona Packaging settled Rs 355,067, both including a 25 percent penalty.

Sanjay Mishra, head of the Bhairahawa distribution center, said that Sona Polymers and Sona Packaging paid all their outstanding amounts a few days ago. Discussions with other industrialists are ongoing, according to him.
