CHITWAN, Jan 5: A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a passenger bus in Lions chowk of Bharatpur metropolis-3 in the east-west highway.
Rabindra Rijal,44, of Bharatpur metropolis-2 died in the accident that took place on Friday night, according to District Police Office, Chitwan. The bus (Na.5 Kha. 5060) was heading towards Narayagadh from Birgunj when it hit the motorcycle (Ba.40Pa.9206) coming from the opposite direction.
Seriously injured Rijal died in course of treatment at Bharatpur hospital. The bus driver has been taken into custody for necessary action, police said.
Two youths killed in Jhapa road mishap
Meanwhile, in another incident a pedestrian was killed in a road accident that took place in Ekata chowk of Kamal rural municipality-4, Damak on Friday.
Shiva Lamichhane of ward no. 1 in Damak municipality died after being hit by a truck (Me.1Kha.1957) in the accident that took place on the east-west highway, according to District Police Office, Jhapa. Seriously injured, Lamichhane died on the way to the hospital.
The truck driver Nirmal Rai,32, of Paanchthar has been taken into custody for necessary action.
