RAJBIRAJ, Nov 30: A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday at Shambunath Municipality – 3, Saptari along the East-West Highway after getting rammed by a bus.
The bus (Na 6 Kha 5312) – heading east from west – hit the woman of estimated 70 years of age killing her on the spot, police said. The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained.
Her body has been taken to the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj for a postmortem examination while further investigation has been launched into the incident, District Police Office said.
Meanwhile, a person was killed when a motorbike collided with a tractor loaded with sand at Banrajhula area of Saptari district on the same day.
The east-bound ill-fated motorbike (Sa 5 Pa 5619) veered out of control and crashed into the rear section of the tractor (Sa 1 Ta 3836) seriously injuring Jagadev Sahani, 26, of Kalyanpur – 3, police said. Sahani died in course of treatment at the Lahan-based Saptarishi Hospital.
Fire in Kusaha
A fire which broke out at Sisubabeli of Kusaha VDC – 6 gutted properties worth Rs 150,000. A concrete house belonging to Bhola Devi Chaudhary was destroyed in the fire, according to police.
The fire broke out from an electric short-circuit in a grocery store owned by Ram Prasad Chaudhary. The fire destroyed a motorbike (Sa 2 Pa 3165), a cycle and fertilizer inside the shop. The fire was taken under control by police and locals. RSS
