KATHMANDU, Aug 29: A team from the Department of Supply Management and Consumer Protection Monday sealed two pathology labs while issuing warnings to some medical shops.
During the market monitoring conducted by the Department Monday, Prakash Polyclinic Pvt Ltd Teku and Teku Lab Pathology were sealed for operating with expired licenses.
Likewise, Prakash Pharmacia Teku, Tiwari Medical Hall Kuleshwor and Nilam Ausadhi Ghar Tripureshwor have been instructed to revise bill format and store medicine and cosmetic items separately, according to Department Director Laxman Shrestha.
The team monitored 12 grocery stores at Koteshwor Area. Most of them were found not displaying price list while some others were not registered. Their proprietors have been instructed to visit the Department after meeting the required market ethnics, according to Department market inspector officer Dhundiraj Pokhrel.
Similarly, Nepal Livestock Sell and Purchase Cooperative Ltd Satungal and Kimal Fresh House Satungal which failed to present the company registration documents were asked to visit the Department with the required documents.
The Ashirbad Meat Shop Satungal and Prime Food and Delicates Naikap found not displaying price list and violating other market norms and values were instructed to contact the Department within a week.
Moreover, 28 public vehicles were taken into control for overcharging passengers and not displaying fare lists, and were handed over to the traffic police. RSS
