KATHMANDU, May 28: Two people lost their lives in separate road accidents this morning in Swayambhu, Kathmandu, and Sanepa, Lalitpur.
In Swayambhu's Bhagwanpau, a cyclist died after being hit by a tipper truck. The Valley Traffic Police Office identified the deceased as Bikas Nepali, 30, from Ajirkot Rural Municipality of Gorkha. Nepali succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Manmohan Hospital.
Two killed in separate accidents
The accident occurred at 5 AM when the tipper truck (Ba 5 Kha 1471), traveling from Dallu to Bhagwanpau, struck the bicycle moving in the same direction. The tipper truck driver has been arrested.
In a separate incident in Lalitpur's Sanepa, a motorcycle accident resulted in one death and one injury. Bijay Ghising, 24, from Manthali Municipality-6 of Ramechhap, died after his motorcycle (Ba 74 Pa 9221) lost control and overturned while traveling from Balkhu to Dhobighat at 5 AM.
Sanjay Ghising, 26, the pillion rider, sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at Star Hospital in Sanepa, according to the police.
