KATHMANDU, June 24: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken the decision to ground two pilots employed by Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
On June 15, the pilots attempted to land a wide-body aircraft operated by NAC at Narita Airport in Japan, exceeding the recommended speed limits.

Gyanendra Bhul, the information officer of the CAAN, confirmed that the aircraft had to perform an overshoot due to the over speed situation.
NAC conducted an internal investigation into the incident and subsequently submitted a report to the authority. In response, the authority has established a three-member investigation committee, tasked with conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident and submitting a detailed report within 15 days.
Until the committee completes its investigation and submits its report, the pilots involved will not be permitted to fly.
