According to the director of the hospital, Dr Rabi Shakya, both of them, who were admitted with pneumonia, were being treated for a few days. The deceased woman had pneumonia, while Nagarkoti had pneumonia as well as a liver disease. Both of them had been given an anti-pneumonic antibiotic called Septriaxone through a syringe for a few days. Director Shakya said that it looked like an accidental death of both of them as they died shortly after being administered the medicine.

It seems like they died suddenly because it happened within 15 to 20 minutes of giving the medicine. Director Shakya said that after relatives alleged that the cause of death was the antibiotics, the hospital collected all the drugs used for this disease and started the process of investigation.

Shakya said that the victims have gone through the legal process. He said, “Any person should be punished if the legal process is proceeded with and the mistake is found.”
