“The British government had promised us the same benefits that the British soldiers get after retirement,” he said, “However, it has been years and the promise is yet to be fulfilled.”
He claimed that the both the British government and the government of Nepal have not paid any attention to the demands of the former British Gurkha soldiers even 11 months after making the promise.
He added that the two governments have done nothing but offer promises to the ex-British Gurkha soldiers till date.
“We have come to realize that the governments are not paying any attention to our report submitted in March,” he said, “It is very irresponsible for both the governments to act in such a way.”
At the program, former attorney general Yubaraj Sangroula said that the former British Gurkhas have been fighting for their rights for the last 25 years and that the government of Nepal should take necessary action in order to make sure that their demands are met.
