UML decides to draw EC's attention

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The meeting of the CPN (UML) Central Election Mobilization Committee today decided to draw the attention of the Election Commission regarding what it said the arbitrary distribution of money from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Prime Minister Relief Fund, and for creating anarchic situation in the bureaucracy.

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The meeting of the CPN (UML) Central Election Mobilization Committee today decided to draw the attention of the Election Commission regarding what it said the arbitrary distribution of money from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Prime Minister Relief Fund, and for creating anarchic situation in the bureaucracy. 


The UML has accused the government of misusing more than Rs 160 million from the state coffers and creating unnecessary disturbance in the civil and police administrative structure. The UML has called on the government to stop such acts as trying to dismantle the police administration structure by creating posts for four Inspectors General in Nepal Police, which it said contravened with the election code of conduct.

A press release signed by Committee spokesman Bishnu Rimal and issued today states that the committee has urged the Election Commission to reprimand the government to carry out its works remaining within the parameters of an elected government. 


Likewise, the committee has demanded that the government curb the series of violent attacks and bomb explosions taking place throughout the country. RSS
