UML decides to mourn Nembang's demise for three days

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The CPN-UML has decided to mourn the passing of the party’s vice chairperson Subash Chandra Nembang, who passed away today, for three days.

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The CPN-UML has decided to mourn the passing of the party’s vice chairperson Subash Chandra Nembang, who passed away today, for three days.


A meeting of the UML Secretariat that took place at the party headquarters Chyasal in Lalitpur endorsed a special condolence motion over the demise of Nembang. As a mark of tribute, the meeting decided to lower the party’s flag to half-mast at all party offices nationwide during the mourning period. Party acting general secretary Pradeep Gyawali confirmed the party’s decisions.

Likewise, a book of condolence is to be placed at the party central office, province offices and district offices in commemoration of the late leader. All formal events of the party and sister organizations are to be suspended during the period to mourn the passing of the leader.


Similarly, the party has decided to organize a special condolence assembly at the party’s central office on September 19.  The mortal remains of the leader have been placed at the party’s headquarters and party leaders, cadres, well-wishers are visiting the office en-masse to pay tributes to the late leader.


An HoR member representing Ilam constituency-2, Nembang passed away 1:40 AM today at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital while receiving treatment for a cardiac arrest. He was 71.
