UML Karnali Province Convention: Vote counting begins after election on Sunday

SURKHET, Oct 2: The counting of votes has started for the election of the new leadership in CPN-UML's Karnali Province. Bishnu Rijal, a member of the presidium, confirmed that the counting process has begun at the city hall.


Voting for the leadership selection took place on Sunday night during the first convention of the UML Karnali Province held in the provincial capital, Birendranagar. While the vote counting was originally scheduled to start at 8:00 AM on Monday, it was slightly delayed due to technical preparations.

The leadership election voting occurred from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, with 609 individuals participating in the process.


The competition for the position of Provincial Chairman includes Gulab Jung Shah of Salyan, Min Bahadur Shahi of Kalikot, and Prakash Rokaya of Kalikot. Shah and Shahi had entered the election field by forming a panel.
