UML organizing a gathering of party’s newly-elected HoR and provincial assembly members today

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: CPN-UML has called a gathering of the newly-elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and members of the provincial assemblies.


The UML is organizing a meeting today to provide orientation to the newly-elected MPs for their parliamentary roles at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi. The newly-elected MPs and candidates will be informed about the role they are expected to play in the federal parliament and provincial assemblies.

The meeting will be attended by MPs elected in the HoR and the provincial assemblies both under the First Past the Post (FPTP) and Proportional Representation (PR) electoral systems. Chairman KP Sharma Oli along with top leaders of the party are scheduled to address the meeting.


The UML has won a total of 78 seats including 44 FPTP seats and 34 PR seats in the HoR. The party has won 91 FPTP and 70 PR seats in seven provincial assemblies.
