UML's instructs holding district and municipal conventions by mid-February

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The CPN-UML has instructed the relevant committees to hold the party's district and municipal level conventions by mid-February, 2024.


A meeting of the Central Organization Department of UML held on October 17 took a decision regarding the conventions of the district, local level and ward level committees as the provincial conventions were completed on time. According to a statement released by Department Secretary Madhav Dhungel, the meeting decided to hold the conventions of ward and locality committees along with renewal of party membership in mid-March to mid-April.

The meeting presided over by Kashinath Adhikari, the party's standing committee member and head of the organization department, approved the party membership verification report. Accordingly, the membership of five hundred and fifty thousand members of the party has been verified, apart from the members under the India Center for Migration and International Committee.


The department has given seven points inter-party instructions based on the guidance received in the program in the presence of party’s Senior Vice-chairman Ishwar Pokhrel, Vice-chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Advisory Council Chairman Amrit Kumar Bohara, former head of the department.
