Unified Socialist to hold National Convention from Jan 28 to Feb 1

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The CPN (Unified Socialist) party is going to hold its National Convention in Kathmandu from January 28 to February 1 in the year 2024.

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The CPN (Unified Socialist) party is going to hold its National Convention in Kathmandu from January 28 to February 1 in the year 2024.


Since the conventions of the party’s all people's organizations could not be completed, it has been decided to hold these conventions in mid-November this year. Therefore, a procedure for the selection of representatives for the National Convention is being prepared.

The general secretary of the party, Ghanshyam Bhusal, said that according to the suggestions of the last Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting, homework is being done to amend the party’s statute by increasing the participation of youth in the CWC, including the representation of minorities, Dalits, marginalized and backward communities and revising the ideological approach to attract more youth to the party.


The convention, which will discuss the ideological approach adopted by the party and the relevance of multi-party democracy, will elect a new leadership. The party has also said that it will conduct a youth-oriented program before the convention.
