KATHMANDU, April 2: The US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Nepal Investment Summit-2024 to be organized on April 28-29.
During a meeting with Finance Minister Barshaman Pun on Monday, American Ambassador to Nepal Dean R Thompson informed about the participation of representatives from the USCC. The US envoy expressed his support in making the mega event a success. The meeting also discussed completing the development projects under construction with the US assistance on time.

Finance Minister Pun informed the US Ambassador about the government’s initiation for legal and procedural reforms to make an investment-friendly environment as a preparation for the investment summit. He urged the US side to bring in as many American investors as possible.
Pun said the government has also forwarded the process of receiving credit rating for the country. With the support of the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, the government has started the process of receiving the country rating by Fitch Ratings.
Pun also informed the US envoy that the government has got the Anti Money Laundering and Business Promotion Bill approved by the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. According to him, the government is waiting for the final certification of 19 amended laws related to prevention of money laundering from the president.
