The directive had to be issued after VDC secretaries were found to have been providing their service by setting up liaison offices in the district headquarters even though they were required to be back in the VDC office to help speed up the reconstruction work, Minister Hit Raj Pandey said. The directive has been made through the concerned DDCs.

The absence of VDC secretaries from the work stations was also pointed out by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Similarly, Secretaries of other VDCs too have been directed to continue their service from their respective VDC. RSS
