Vehicles prohibited on Hanuman Dhoka premises

KATHMANDU, July 4: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prohibited the entry of vehicles into the Hanuman Dhoka premises. The decision was taken by the metropolis to preserve the originality of the heritage.

KATHMANDU, July 4: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prohibited the entry of vehicles into the Hanuman Dhoka premises. The decision was taken by the metropolis to preserve the originality of the heritage.


KMC Mayor Balendra Shah emphasized the significance of preserving the ancient heritage of the city, stating that it forms the very essence of its identity. “It is these heritages and their ancient originality that can be shown to the world with pride that we can advance with pride,” he said, “Millions of tourists can come to experience and enjoy," he added.

Mentioning that thousands of tourists come to the Basantpur area daily, he mentioned that there is a possibility that millions of tourists may come in the future through social media. He mentioned that the originality, beauty and environment of the complex are essential to be calm, clean and picturesque and said that vehicles are prohibited on the premises of Hanuman Dhoka.
