Vice President Pun leaving for China today

KATHMANDU, July 4: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun is leaving for China on Tuesday to attend the 23rd China-Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair being held in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province.

KATHMANDU, July 4: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun is leaving for China on Tuesday to attend the 23rd China-Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair being held in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province.

 

Vice President Pun, who will lead the Nepali delegation, is scheduled to address the High-profile Forum for Cooperation and Development along the Silk Road on Thursday and also deliver a keynote speech to the business community on the theme “Nepal- China (Gansu) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference” on 7 July 2017.


Nepal is the guest of honor country to the trade fair. The high-profile visit from Nepal to China is taking place shortly after Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on China's ambitious One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Monday, Vice President Pun will also meet senior Chinese leaders in Lanzhou. He will also visit two historical cities of Shaanxi Province of China - Xi'an and Yan'an, where the provincial Chinese leaders will call on the vice president.


The vice president will be accompanied by his spouse Hastamali Pun, secretary at the Office of the vice President Narayan Gopal Malego and senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce during the visit.



Vice President Pun will return home on July 10, 2017.
