KATHMANDU, May 8: With one more patient from Banke district testing positive for coronavirus through the PCR method at Bheri Hospital today, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has reached 102.
At a regular press briefing, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, Bikash Devkota, said that the newly infected person is a 16-year-old male from Nepalgunj.

Of the total 102 infected persons, 74 are males and 28 are females.
Devkota said that eight patients who had undergone treatment at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar were discharged earlier today. "With this, the number of discharged patients who had earlier tested positive for the deadly virus has reached 30," he said.
According to the spokesperson, 15,624 persons are at quarantine facilities while 135 persons are in isolation across the country.
The number of tests for the virus through the PCR method has reached 15,492 while the number of tests through the RDT method stands at 54,531. In the past 24 hours alone, 1,859 persons were tested for the virus through the RDT method.
