Voice of MPs in National Assembly: From TU's question paper to Tuin's displacement

KATHMANDU, July 12: Member of the National Assembly Dil Kumari Rawal Thapa Parvati has said that the Nepali language should be used in the question papers of the examinations conducted by Tribhuvan University.


Speaking during the zero hour of the National Assembly on Tuesday, MP Rawal Thapa Parvati said that many students were failing due to no-use of the Nepali language in the question papers. She demanded that the question papers of the post-graduate and undergraduate examinations should be in English and the answer sheets should be in both Nepali and English as the answers are open in both Nepali and English.


Similarly, MP Anita Devkota said that the three-tier government was not functioning as provisioned by the constitution. She said that the inter-relationship between the three levels of government was based on the principles of co-operation, coexistence and co-ordination but the constitution was not followed. Devkota said that the three-tier government should focus on the operation of the state by keeping the citizens at the center for the defense of the constitution.

Similarly, MP Indu Kaderia said that people have lost their lives every year by falling from Tuins (improvised cable crossing) on the Mahakali River as the present government has not given priority to displacing Tuins. She demanded that the Deuba government should immediately move ahead with the displacement of Tuins in 11 places on the Mahakali River.


Similarly, MP Khim Lal Devkota has said that there is no government in the country. He said that the 500-meter road in Lalitpur's Bhaisepati had been blocked for the past six years. MP Devkota demanded that the Minister for Physical Infrastructure should give an answer in parliament. Even after raising the issue of MPs for six years, the minister hasn't responded.


Similarly, MP Nanda Chapai said that the province government has worked to raise the question of federalism growing up in infancy. She said that it was sad that the Gandaki Province government had opened an academy in the name of the Chief Minister's parents and deposited money in the fund through the budget. She demanded the government stop such irregularities.


MP Prakash Panta said that the government has neglected Chudiramga, the birthplace of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya. He said the government had not been able to make Bhanubhat's birthplace work as expected. MP Pantha said that Chudiramgha, the birthplace of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, has a lot of potential for internal and literary tourists and urged the government to make it a priority.
