Volleyball player found dead in Dhading

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Manoj Kumar Shrestha, a volleyball player hailing from Dhading, has been discovered dead by apparent hanging. The District Police Office in Dhading received a report of the body's discovery in Siddlake Rural Municipality-3, Dhodeni at 6:45 in the morning. A team, led by an inspector from the District Police Office, was dispatched to the scene.

Shrestha, a permanent resident of Gangajamuna-4, Gumdi, had recently taken part in the Tamu Yuva Samaj open men's volleyball tournament held at Nalang Khirre. Serving as the captain of the Dhading team, they emerged victorious in the match on Wednesday. Following the match, it is believed that he relocated to Salang with the team.


Notably, Shrestha's wife is currently residing abroad. The exact cause of his demise will be determined following a post-mortem examination. At present, no suicide note or other relevant evidence has been found at the scene of the incident.
