LAHAN, Sept 20: Vote counting in Lahan Municipality-5 has been halted yet again after the Nepali Congress candidate filed a case at the office of the returning officer.

LAHAN, Sept 20: Vote counting in Lahan Municipality-5 has been halted yet again after the Nepali Congress candidate filed a case at the office of the returning officer.


UML has called its representatives back after NC candidate Mohammad Karim demanded reelection after she lost the election to UML candidate Suleman Ansari of Lahan-5.

“We have called back our representatives after NC disrupted the announcement of the winner, demanding reelection,” UML municipal chairman Sachitananda Chaudhari told Republica Online.


The vote counting has been halted after UML called back its representatives, said the returning officer.


UML is now demonstrating against the returning officer demanding announce of the winner.


Earlier, vote counting had been disrupted after Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) called back its representatives demanding reelections, in Lahan 3.
