Voter turnout less by seven percent

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The election to the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly held on Sunday has witnessed lower turnouts as compared to the last election of HoR and Provincial Assembly held five years ago.

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The election to the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly held on Sunday has witnessed lower turnouts as compared to the last election of HoR and Provincial Assembly held five years ago. 


The Election Commission (EC)'s preliminary observation put the voting turnout at 61 percent this time which is less by seven percent compared to that of the 2074 BS general election. The 2074 BS election to HoR and Provincial Assembly had seen 68.67 percent voting.

Similarly, the local level election held six months ago also had a relatively better voting turnout. It had recorded 66.87 percent turnout.
