Voting underway in peaceful manner at all polling stations in Banke

BANKE, Nov 20: Voting is currently underway in all polling stations across Banke district to elect members of House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assembly.

BANKE, Nov 20: Voting is currently underway in all polling stations across Banke district to elect members of House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assembly. 


Chief Returning Officer Dhansingh Mahara informed that voting has started in all centers since 7 AM. "Voting has started in all centers in a peaceful manner,” he said..

The voting will continue till 5 PM today. A total of 380 polling stations have been set up in Banke. Chief Returning Officer Mahara said that there is enthusiastic participation of people in the voting.


A total of 3,040 employees have been deployed to complete the election in 3 federal constituencies in Banke. Likewise, more than 4,500 security personnel have been mobilized throughout the district to ensure effective security arrangement. 


A total of 138 polling stations have been set up in 3 constituencies in the district. The EC has set up 137 polling stations in zone 1, 130 in zone 2 and 130 in zone 3.


A total of 3,32,231 people are exercising their right to vote in the election. Of them, 1,68,853 are men and 1,63,369 are women voters, according to the Election Office.
