KATHMANDU, Dec 21: In the area of Northern Namkha Rural Municipality including Simkot, the headquarters of Humla, water has started to freeze due to the sharp decrease in temperature. Although there has been no snowfall this year, as the temperature has started to decrease in Humla, the water in the tap has started freezing.
As it is very cold during the night, water taps have started freezing in the morning. In Simkot, the temperature declines to minus at night and in the morning. Maya Lama, a resident of Simkot, said that even the water stored in buckets and other vessels has started freezing and turning into ice.
