We import only diapers; not sanitary pads: Blueprint Trading

KATHMANDU, July 9: Refuting the news reports that political influence was used to unduly benefit the company, Blueprint Trading Company, which is partly owned by the son of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, has clarified that it is involved in importing 'sanitary pads' is untrue, misleading and wrong.

KATHMANDU, July 9: Refuting the news reports that political influence was used to unduly benefit the company, Blueprint Trading Company, which is partly owned by the son of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, has clarified that it is involved in importing 'sanitary pads' is untrue, misleading and wrong.


The statement came a day after Nagarik and Republica reported that Blueprint Trading had imported sanitary pads, reducing the import duty on sanitary pads using political influence.

"Our serious attention has been drawn to the news reports published in the media about the blueprint trading system without any basis or evidence. Blueprint Trading is a company that imports diapers for children in Nepal,” said Hemant Bajagain, Managing Director of the company, in a statement on Saturday.


The company has not imported sanitary pads since its inception. "We inform the general public through this press release that the news published/ broadcast without any basis is detrimental to the value of our company," the statement said.
