As many as seven police personnel including a minor and SSP were killed when the demonstrators hit the streets demanding Tharuhat/Tharuwan Province in Tikapur of Kailali district on August 24, 2015.

Speaking in the Parliament, Chaudhari recalled that the Maoists who are now in the government had putforth a 42-point demand in the then government before waging the 10-year-long armed insurgency.

The country had to pay a heavy price after it ignored the demand raised by the Maoists. The same situation might repeat if the government pays no heed to our demands,Chaudhari warned.

He pointed out that the country might plunge into a chaos, jeopardizing the constitution, if the demands of the Madhesi and Tharu communities are ignored.

He further said that the ruling alliance Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and Madhesi Morcha had sealed a three-point deal prior to the formation of the current government, inquiring whether the government backed away from amending the constitution.
