The intensity of the cyclone is further growing and it is moving towards north and northwest. Most parts in Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces are expected to see moderate rainfall while noticeable rain is forecast in few other places from Wednesday evening to Friday. Similarly, light to moderate rainfall has been forecast at a few places in Province1, Province 2 and Bagmati Province.

Senior meteorologist at MFD Pratibha Manandhar said heavy rainfall and storms are less likely as Nepal is not going to experience direct impact of the Tauktae.  However, the impact of Tauktae will remain till Friday.

Since this is pre-monsoon season there is a possibility of thundershower, wind and rain with hailstone. The MFD has asked climbers not to attempt mountain expeditions during this period.
