WEATHER ALERT: Thunderstorms and lightning forecast for next three days

KATHMANDU, May 4: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of precautions as hail storms with thunder and lightning is forecast for the next 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, May 4: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of precautions as hail storms with thunder and lightning is forecast for the next 24 hours. 


According to the division, most parts of the country are expected to receive rain due to the prevalence of westerlies, local winds and low-pressure belts formed in the eastern region. Similarly, rain vapors are also arriving from the Bay of Bengal and the Arab Sea.

The division has also forecast that the weather will change in most parts of the country on Monday. Some parts will witness thunderstorms with thunder and lightning during the day while western and central regions will receive thunderstorms tonight.


On Tuesday, change in weather and rain with thunder and lightning is expected especially in the western region during the day while most places in the eastern region will receive hail storms during the night. 


Some parts in the hilly region and central and eastern terai region will receive thunderstorms during the daytime on Wednesday while rain is expected in some parts of the hilly region in the night.
