KATHMANDU, Jan 27: The weather affected by the impact of a westerly low pressure system for the past few days is likely to improve gradually from Friday.
Senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Barun Poudel, said that there is possibility of gradual improvement of the weather as the weather system is expected to weaken from Friday. “The sky across the country will remain partially cloudy till Thursday,” Poudel said.
Issuing a notice for the next 24 hours, the Department predicted light rainfall at some places of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Lumbini provinces and one or two places of the remaining provinces.
Weather expected to gradually improve from tomorrow
It also cautioned people to adopt necessary safety and precaution to remain safe from cold as there is possibility of light snowfall in some places of high-hilly and Himalayan regions of the country.
Sudurpaschim and Gandaki provinces have been witnessing generally cloudy weather while the sky in the remaining provinces is partly cloudy.
Rainfall has been taking place at one or two places in Sudurpaschim Province. The weather in hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will remain generally cloudy and the sky will remain partly cloudy in the remaining provinces on Thursday.
Light rainfall has been forecast in some places of hilly areas and light snowfall in some places of high-hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
As per the latest details of the Division, today’s minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley is 5.6 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature 16.5 degrees Celsius.
