ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Oct 25: Leg-spinner Yasir Shah brought Pakistan close to a series clinching victory Tuesday with a five-wicket haul as West Indies lurched to 272-7 at lunch on the last day of the second test.

Shah (5-105) tormented West Indies' hopes to save the test with his triple strike in the morning session after West Indies resumed at overnight 171-4.

Wicketkeeper batsman Shai Hope carried the faint West Indies hope with an unbeaten 23 while Davendra Bishoo was not out on 5. West Indies still required another 184 runs with only three wickets in hand in the remaining two sessions.

Shah struck with the old ball when he had Roston Chase (20) caught behind off a vicious leg-break before denying Jermaine Blackwood (95) a deserved century when he clean bowled the right-hander with the new ball.

Blackwood, resuming at 41, led a brief West Indies fight with 11 fours during his 127-ball knock that featured some crisp straight driven boundaries off seamers and spinners.

Captain Jason Holder missed Shah's straight delivery and was trapped leg before wicket on the backfoot just before lunch to push West Indies further toward defeat.
