Wildfires destroy around 300 hectares of forests in Udayapur

UDAYAPUR, May 1: Forest fires have destroyed thickets and trees on around 300 hectares of jungles located at Chaudandigadhi, Belaka and Triyuga municipalities of the district.

UDAYAPUR, May 1: Forest fires have destroyed thickets and trees on around 300 hectares of jungles located at Chaudandigadhi, Belaka and Triyuga municipalities of the district. 


According to the Division Forest Office, the wildfires, which have been taking place for the past 10 days, damaged Phooljor Devisthan, Saraswoti and Beltar community forests.

Information officer at the Division Forest Office, Gaighat, Jaheshwar Sah, said small plants and trees were destroyed by the wildfire. 


Similarly, forest fires have also destroyed a jungle located at Limchungbung Rural Municipality-5 in the district. Though efforts were made to bring the wildfires under control, there hasn’t been much success due to storms, said an official of the Division Forest Office.
