Salman Khan is going to return to the Dabangg franchise with its fourth instalment. It has been widely reported that the film is well on its way and that filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia has been writing a script for quite some time now. But, a source close to the project spoke to ETimes and revealed, "It is true that Tigmanshu Dhulia is writing the script and he may even end up directing it."
It was during the promotion of Antim that Salman Khan had mentioned that he plans to start Dabangg 4 by the end of 2022. In the past few months, we've been informed that Salman is pretty happy with the way Tigmanshu has been crafting the story and screenplay of the fourth film in the franchise. That's why, there's a strong chance that Salman may actually insist on Tigmanshu directing the film. He might just be the best and ideal person to pull off all the thrills and spills of Chulbul Pandey's adventure.

Tigmanshu has in the past directed such rustic gems like Paan Singh Tomar and the Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster movies, which have the same kind of creative space as the Dabangg franchise.
