With 1,313 fresh cases in past 24 hours, Nepal’s coronavirus case tally surpasses 70,000 mark

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Nepal witnessed 1,313 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide coronavirus case tally to 70,614.

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Nepal witnessed 1,313 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide coronavirus case tally to 70,614.


At a daily media briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country on Friday afternoon, Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that 1,313 new cases were detected through 12,262 PCR tests conducted at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

The Kathmandu Valley alone saw 645 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.


According to Gautam, 1,455 more COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours, taking the country’s COVID-19 recovery tally to 51,866. There are currently 18,289 active cases of COVID-19 in various parts of the country.


With six more people dying of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus-related death toll in Nepal has climbed to 459. Likewise, 6,464 persons are currently staying isolated in various parts of the country.
