With 32 new cases today, COVID-19 tally surges to 198 in Karnali

SURKHET, June 1: The COVID-19 tally in Karnali Province has reached 198 after 32 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed on Monday.

SURKHET, June 1: The COVID-19 tally in Karnali Province has reached 198 after 32 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed on Monday.


New cases include 17 from Dailekh, 10 from Salyan and five from Surkhet district. They were diagnosed with this fatal disease at Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory of the Karnali Provincial Hospital.

According to Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari, who heads the Health Services Division of the Karnali Province Social Development Ministry, a total of 15 males from Narayan Municipality and another male from Mahabu Rural Municipality in Dailekh district tested positive for COVID-19. 


While 10 male patients from Bangad Kupinde Municipality in Salyan district were found to have contracted coronavirus,  10 other males from Barahatal Rural Municipality in Surkhet district tested positive for this deadly virus.


Earlier on Sunday evening, 43 patients including two police personnel were diagnosed with COVID-19 infection during a test conducted at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
