With George Scott in, Chitwan Tigers has a Middlesex-trio

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Chitwan Tigers announced its third English overseas recruit, George Scott, for the forthcoming season of Everest Premier League (EPL), on Tuesday.  Tigers had previously announced Max Holden, the former England U-19 captain, and James Fuller, a former New Zealand U-19 player as its foreign recruits. All three players play for Middlesex County in English County Championships.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Chitwan Tigers announced its third English overseas recruit, George Scott, for the forthcoming season of Everest Premier League (EPL), on Tuesday.  Tigers had previously announced Max Holden, the former England U-19 captain, and James Fuller, a former New Zealand U-19 player as its foreign recruits. All three players play for Middlesex County in English County Championships.


Scott is an English all-rounder who made his debut for Middlesex against Essex during the NatWest T20 Blast in 2015. The right-handed batsman has been a prominent player for Middlesex 2nd XI, and has played 22 games for the Middlesex senior team which features the likes of Eoin Morgan, Dawid Malan, and Paul Stirling.

The 22-year-old, in his Vitality Blast debut, was the only batsman to hit a six in the match as Middlesex thumped Essex by six wickets. He played five games for Middlesex in the same competition this year with 32 against Glamorgan being his best with the bat. He also has a wicket to his name in T20 cricket taken in the same match.


Similarly, in his Royal London One-Day Cup debut against Nottinghamshire in the same year, he was dismissed by the South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir -- a match Middlesex lost by 49 runs. Scott is yet to register a maiden milestone to his name for Middlesex. His best has been 38 not out runs in T20 cricket.


Kathmandu Kings XI announced the United Arab Emirates captain Rohan Mustafa and Irish World Cup hero Kevin O’Brien as their overseas players for the 2018 season of EPL. Similarly, Paras Khadka announced the contract extension of Hong Kong duo of Babar Hayat and Anshuman Rath to represent Biratnagar Warriors for the second season in succession.


Bhairahawa Gladiators, Pokhara Rhinos and Lalitpur Patriots are yet to announce any signings for the upcoming season.
