RAUTAHAT, March 20: A woman has died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Rautahat.  


Meena Kumari Magar, 50, of Chandrapur Municipality-4 was killed by a wild elephant when she had gone to collect fodder with her friends in the Dhansar forest, along the East-West highway.

Five or six villagers had gone to the forest to fetch fodder along with Magar. Local eyewitnesses said that when a wild elephant was suddenly found while cutting grass, the others managed to escape, but Magar was attacked by the elephant due to her poor hearing.    


According to the Area Police Office, Chandranigahpur, the body of Magar who died in the elephant attack has been kept at the government hospital for a post-mortem. The police said that they will hand the body over to the relatives after the post-mortem.
