JANAKPURDHAM, July 23: A woman was shot dead in the Nepal-India border area in Dhanusha district on Saturday night.


A 35-year-old woman was shot dead near no-man’s land in Belahi, Mukhiyapatti, Musaharniya rural municipality 2, Dhanusa.

Dhanusha Superintendent of Police (SP) Bishwaraj Khadka informed Republica that the identity of the woman who died due to gunshots has not been revealed.


According to him, it was found out that two people came on a motorcycle and an unknown person opened two rounds of bullet at her before fleeing the scene.


Indian police have taken the body for post-mortem. According to the Dhanusha police, efforts are being made to find the identity of the deceased woman in coordination with the Indian police.


Bullet casings were found in no-man’s land. SP Khadka said that the incident is being further investigated in coordination with Nepal Police and Indian Police.
