Working journalists complain for not getting minimum wages

KATHMANDU, July 31: Journalists have bemoaned for not getting minimum wage of the last fiscal year. 

At a program organized by Nepal Press Union in honour of newly-appointed Information and Communications Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, the journalists made such comments stating that they were not provided with their remuneration of the last fiscal year. 


The working journalists also drew attention of the Information and Communications Minister adding that the act of non-payment from the employers was unfortunate.

On the occasion, Minister Basnet urged the journalists to write independently and freely for the institutional development and strengthening of the federal democratic republic. 


"Demonstration of capacity is needed where there are challenges. Disseminating factual and true news for the country's prosperity is the journalists' common responsibility," he said. 

Union's Chairman Badri Sigdel also expressed his opinion on the occasion. RSS
