The latest sneakers collection launch of Balenciaga includes 100 pairs of limited edition sneakers which are extra destroyed. These sneakers which look worn out, to say the least, are selling online in Europe, with the United States and Middle East stores following suit on May 16, and Japan on May 23. According to the brand, these sneakers are a retooled classic design that interprets mid-century athleticism and timeless casual wear in black, white, or red, with a white rubber sole and toe with distressed canvas and rough edges, affecting a pre-worn look.

The question is- are worn-out shoes the new fashion statement? Also spending a few thousand dollars for the same makes any sense?


One thing is for sure, Balenciaga aficionados are going to grab the first hundred pairs and they would be out of stock in a jiffy.


These sneakers are priced at 1850 USD that is around 1.42 lakhs INR. Another important fact here is that these distorted shoes are not as bad as how they look in the picture. They are an exaggerated version of the sneakers presented for the new campaign to grab eyeballs.
