Yeti Airlines commences evening flights on Kathmandu-Pokhara route

POKHARA, Sept 18: Yeti Airlines, a privately-owned airline, has initiated night flights on the Kathmandu-Pokhara-Kathmandu route in response to increasing demand from air passengers. The airline successfully conducted its inaugural night flight on this route on Sunday night.

According to Sudarshan Bartaula, spokesperson for Yeti Airlines, the night flight will depart from Kathmandu to Pokhara at 5:30 PM, returning to Kathmandu at 6:20 PM. Yeti Airlines is currently operating six flights daily to Pokhara, including evening flights.

Reports indicate that Yeti Airlines plan to increase the number of flights if passenger demand for night flights continues to rise. “With the onset of the festive season, passenger numbers are expected to increase,” Bartaula stated, “If there is an increase in passengers, evening flights will be added instead of afternoon flights. Currently, only one evening flight has been added, but we will adjust our flight schedule according to the demand.”

He also noted that passengers have started to prefer air travel due to the challenging road conditions to Pokhara.

Yeti Airlines currently operates five ATR 72 aircraft and began evening flights following the opening of the Pokhara Regional International Airport. Prior to this, Buddha Air had been regularly operating night flights on the same route. The airline is considering expanding its night flight services to other sectors while maintaining daytime operations.
