KATHMANDU, July 26: In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, the Yogmaya Ayurveda University Bill 2079, which originated in the National Assembly, was passed.
The bill, which was proposed by Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel, for discussions in the Education and Health Committee of the House of Representatives, was passed unanimously.

Clarifying the issues raised in the discussion, Minister Paudel said that the university which would be established in the Arun Valley in the name of Yogmaya — a leader in the women's rights movement in Nepal — will attract foreign students and conduct research on various subjects related to Ayurveda.
This bill has been introduced to produce skilled manpower that studies and researches Ayurveda, yoga therapy and herbs. The bill shall come into effect on the 31st day of its ratification. The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on Friday 13th July at 11 AM.
