Young man commits suicide by jumping off the roof of Manmohan Cardiothoracic Center

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: A young man has committed suicide by jumping off the roof of the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center, which is affiliated to the TU Teaching Hospital.

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: A young man has committed suicide by jumping off the roof of the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center, which is affiliated to the TU Teaching Hospital.


The deceased, 21-year-old Swaroopraj Acharya from Gokarneshwar Municipality-4 in Kathmandu, jumped off the roof of Ace Cafe on the sixth floor of the center. It is not clear under what circumstances he jumped off from the roof. Police said that they are investigating the incident.

According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Acharya sustained severe injuries from the fall and was initially treated at the Manmohan Cardio Center. Later, he was declared dead at around 3 pm on Saturday.


Police have stated that Acharya was neither a patient nor a relative of a patient at the TU Teaching Hospital or the Manmohan Cardiac Center. Witnesses reported that he had been drinking coffee at Ace Cafe before the incident occurred.
